System Files
Uh oh... you've read this far. This means that you've had problems installing QuakeOn, or you're very curious, or you have nothing better to do. QuakeOn is fairly simple, file-wise. The installation program installs a bunch of DLLs, one OCX (ActiveX control), and one TLB (type library) file to your Windows System directory. All of these files are very common, are not written by DIR, and may have also been installed by other programs you use.

QuakeOn itself is just an one executable (exe) file. It stores all of it's settings in a plain old initialization file (QuakeOn.ini). We figure that most people don't want some stranger dancing around in their registries. Besides, an ini file is easier for all you curious types to poke around in and mess things up. That's all there is. Any thing else in your QuakeOn directory is left there by the installation program, or it's one of the many text files that's included for your reference (readme.txt, worklog.txt, faq.txt, etc...)

If you've had trouble installing QuakeOn, or you want to see what files DIR is distributing with QuakeOn, you can download all the files at once. All of these files belong in your Windows System directory. Once these files are successfully in your Windows System directory, you only need the Program Files download which includes the actual QuakeOn executables.
